Pinewood, SC………. William “Bill” Alexander Carlisle, Jr., age 79, beloved husband of 56 years to Barbara Ann Hall Carlisle, went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 24th, 2025 at Prisma Health Richland Hospital.
Mr. Carlisle was born in Sumter, SC, a son of the late William Alexander Carlisle, Sr. and Mildred Ard Brown. He was a former data processing manager for Williams Furniture, Georgia Pacific, Southern Coatings, Farmers Telephone Company and the City of Sumter, where he later retired. Bill was a Christian leader, devoted to serving his church as a deacon, Sunday School Teacher, and an RA teacher, he was a member of Summerton Baptist Church. Bill, Pawpaw, will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, brother, and an avid Clemson fan!
Surviving in addition to his wife are: Two sons, William “Billy” Alexander Carlisle, III and his wife Tammy of Pinewood, SC, and Joseph Kirkland “Kirk” Carlisle and his wife Kelli of Sumter, SC; One brother, Robert “Bobby” Carlisle of Sumter, SC; Two sisters, Brenda Eaton and her husband Bill of Lilburn, GA, and Lynn Charpentier and her husband Keith of Sumter, SC; Five grandchildren, Kelsey Underwood and her husband Luke of Newborn, GA, Katelyn Broome and her husband Ethan of Pinewood, SC, Holly Leisten and her husband Josh of Easley, SC, Joseph “Joey” Carlisle of Spartanburg, SC, and Nathan Carlisle of Sumter, SC; and three great-grandchildren, Logan Underwood, Madison Underwood and William Leisten.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm, Thursday, February 27th, 2025, at Summerton Baptist Church with Pastor Billy Carlisle and Rev. Kirk Carlisle officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Colin Davis, Tim Garrity, Luke Underwood, Josh Leisten, Ethan Broome and Nathan Carlisle.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00-2:00pm, Thursday, February 27th, 2025 at Summerton Baptist Church.
