Younghee Park, age 54, passed away early Saturday morning on November 9th, 2024, at Prisma Health Richland Hospital.
She was born in Yangjeong-dong, Ulsan, South Korea, to Gilho Park and Ilsaeng Kim on September 6, 1970. She grew up in Yangjeong-dong, where she attended Ulsan Joongang Girls’ High School and graduated from Ulsan College with a degree in architecture. She worked as an architectural designer and an English tutor before marrying her husband, Byul Kim, on January 28th, 2003.
Younghee was a caring daughter, aunt, wife, and mother who was dedicated to her family, helping raise her nieces and nephews before getting married and fully devoting her time to raising her own children and nurturing her own family with her husband Byul. She was a strong and courageous woman, who had made an impactful decision to move to the United States with her husband for her children. She was an excellent pianist, often heard playing tunes at home, she was a great cook, always preparing recipes full of love for her friends and family, and was a devout Catholic, always praying for her children, husband, and loved ones.
She is survived by her husband, Byul Kim, her daughter, Ryukyung “Callie” Kim, her son, Taeyoung “Aiden” Kim, as well as her mother, brother, sister, in-laws, and nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Gilho Park, and her older brother, Joojeong Park.
