Blane H. Lawson

Sumter, SC….Blane H. Lawson, age 90, beloved husband of 51 years to Francesca C. Lawson, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at his home.

Mr. Lawson was born in Blanch, NC, a son of the late William H. Lawson and Nora P. Hooker. He proudly served his country for 23 years as a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force, earning the respect of all who served alongside him. After completing his military career, Blane continued his commitment to his community as the owner and operator of the Jim Robertson Insurance Agency, which he led with dedication for more than 20 years. Blane will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors in addition to his wife are: Three sons, Jeffrey Lawson, Daniel Lawson, and Timothy Lawson; a daughter, Leah Lawson; a sister, Lillian Page; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 24th, 2026, at 1:00pm at Fort Jackson National Cemetery.
