Sumter, SC…. Edward Barwick, age 88, died on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at Prisma Health Richland.
Born and raised in Sumter, SC, he was the son of the late Harry Harrison Barwick and Onita McLeod Barwick. Edward enlisted in the United States Army at a young age. He was a proud patriot and loved serving his country. After his separation from the army, Edward became a welder and worked at Union Camp for many years until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing and the outdoors as well as cars and watching old westerns. His true joy in life came from spending time with his family. He will be remembered as a very loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Surviving to cherish his memory are; a daughter, Marsha Faraon of Sumter; a son, Kenny McCormick and his wife Diana of Salina, KS; two sisters, Vonnie Ardis, and Gladys Britt, both of Sumter; five grandchildren, Michael Floyd and his wife Jessica, Heather Windham and her husband Chris, Anahea Blazer and her husband Marcus, Lindsey Faraon and her husband Jett Wheeler, and Brandon McCormick of Salina, KS; five great grandchildren, Clay Windham, Janet Floyd, Caden Pack, Braydyn Blazer, and Bristol Opher; nieces and nephews, Janice, Rusty, Una, Jimmy, Glen, Kevin, Jennifer, Wilber, and Christopher, and a special friend, Lettie Mae Thompson.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by, a daughter, Oneita Williams, a sister, Inell Hicks and a brother, Wilbur Allen Barwick.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 27, 2023, at 1:00 pm in the Bullock Funeral Home Chapel. The interment will follow the service in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 12:00 – 1:00 pm on Monday, November 27, 2023, at Bullock Funeral Home.
