Sumter, SC…Nell Lowder McDaniel, age 88, beloved wife of the late Lester Daniel McDaniel, passed away on Wednesday, November 16, 2022.
Born in Sumter, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Marion Lowder and Jassamine Skipper Lowder. She loved spending time praying for her family, and she will be remembered as a loving mother. She was also known for being an avid seamstress, master gardener, interior designer, and antique curator. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
She is survived by her son Lester D. McDaniel, Jr.; her daughter, Janice McDaniel Kalish; two sisters, Nancy and her husband Professor Tommy Kerlin of Knoxville, TN, and Ann and her husband Walter; her seven grandchildren, Alice E. Kalish, Bernard P. Kalish, Jr., Allison M. Thames, Patrick J. Kalish, Lesley K. Gibson, Laura McCoy, and Marion Newman.
She is preceded in death by her son, Patrick Roberts McDaniel; and her daughter, Julie McDaniel Wright.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 21, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
