Sumter, SC …. Ronald Franklin DeVerse, age 87, beloved husband of 66 years to Fern “Marie” Koup DeVerse, died on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at White Oak Manor of Newberry SC.
Born in Zanesville, Ohio, he was the son of Paul DeVerse and Grace Lowry DeVerse. Ron was known to be a great friend, devoted loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother. He’s a retired GYSGT from the United States Marine Corps and had a strong love for his country. Ron will be dearly missed by friends and family.
He is survived by his loving wife Marie, sons, Patrick M. DeVerse and his wife Linda from Hayes VA; Mark A. DeVerse and his wife Tina from Porterville CA; daughter Christina L DeVerse from Porterville CA; 5 granddaughters, Tiffany Stacy from Lincolnton GA, Lauren Ayers from Hampton VA; Michelle DeVerse from Virginia Beach VA; April Mechaca from Porterville CA; Samantha Ackerman from Pismo Beach CA and 2 grandsons Andrew DeVerse from Lindsay CA and Christopher DeVerse from Yorktown VA. He also survived by 14 great grand Children and his loving Sister Carmen Peterson from Pittsburgh PA.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brother, Sonny, and sister Libby.
The memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at 1:00 pm in the Bullock Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tommy McDonald officiating.
