Across your area, an individual impersonating a funeral home employee is contacting families and demanding payment over the phone. Please know that we will never call you and ask for payment over the phone. Do not give the caller your information or money! Hang up and call the police. And if you're ever unsure about anything to do with your loved one, please call the funeral home and speak with your funeral director.

Sumter, SC…Ted E. DuBose, age 73, died peacefully in his home on Sunday, October 10, 2021, after a long battle with lung cancer.
Mr. DuBose is survived by his wife, Edith, and two children, Kevin and Brian; one grandchild, Kaylie DuBose; two brothers, Charlie DuBose, and Dale DuBose; and one sister, Marilyn DuBose all of Sumter.
Ted was a veteran of the Vietnam War. For his service, he earned the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Air Medal, Combat Infantry Badge and Expert Rifle Badge. He served honorably in the U.S Army with distinction of “1st Cavalry Division (Airmobile)”, achieving the rank of Sergeant. After two years of military service, he returned to Sumter where he started his own family and became co-owner of DuBose Bait Center.
He enjoyed doing anything outdoors, but nothing could please him more than bass fishing with his two sons in Sparkleberry swamp.
His success in life can be directly attributed to his strong work ethic, discipline, and wisdom which he acquired from his profound study of God’s word.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2021, at 3:00 pm in the Sumter Cemetery with military honors.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
You may go to www.bullockfuneralhome.com and sign the family’s guest book.
The family has chosen Bullock Funeral Home for the arrangements.
