Virgin Mary (McAlister) Reames

Sumter, SC… Virgin Mary Reames, age 52, beloved wife of 24 years to Patrick Steven Reames, died on Monday, January 1, 2024, at Prisma Health Tuomey.

Born in Sumter, SC, she was the daughter of the late Franklin Leroy McAlister and Mamie Welch McAlister Lee.  Mary loved to take pictures with her camera as well as doing different arts and crafts.  She was known as a social butterfly who had an infectious laugh.  Mary loved her animals, however her true joy in life came from spending time with her family.  She will be remembered as a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.  She will be missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by; three sons, Daniel McAlister of Dover, DE, James Earl Rogers, Jr of Sumter, and Jonathan Rogers of Bishopville; a brother, Mack Neil McAlister of Sumter; a sister, Sue Nel Warren and her husband Ricky of Sumter; a half-brother, Frank McAlister, and two grandsons, Gabriel McAlister and Samuel McAlister.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two sisters, Daisy Ann McAlister, and Victoria McAlister and a stepfather, Henry Lee.
