Sumter, SC …….. Warren Douglas Bayne, age 72, beloved husband of the late Geraldine Moore Bayne, died on Friday, May 28, 2021 at his residence.
Born in Travelers Rest, SC, he was the son of the late Paul Edgar Bayne and Helen Dobson Bayne. Doug served in the United States Army for over 24 years and retired in 1987 as a Sergeant Major. He served two tours in Vietnam as a combat medic and received numerous commendations during his career. He loved to cook for his girls and is best known for his homemade egg rolls and spaghetti and was always seen drinking either coffee or chocolate milk. His true joy in life came from spending time with his daughters and grandchildren. He will be remembered as a very loving father, grandfather and friend. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by; two daughters, Tunisia “Tina” Cotton and her husband Richard of Dalzell and Kimberly “Renee” Nolen and her husband Jeff of Moore and two grandchildren; Adrian Styles and Kelsey Cotton.
In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by; one brother, Samuel Bayne; one sister, Catherine Bayne and a grandson, Kyle Cotton.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2021, at 12:30 pm, in the McLeod Church Cemetery with the Rev. Tommy McDonald officiating.
Pallbearers will be Richard Cotton, Jeff Nolen, Anthony Porter and Anthony Porter, Jr.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 3, 2021, from 11:00 – 12:00 pm, at Bullock Funeral Home.
